Fig and blackberry salad

A delicious and colourful fruit salad to have as an energetic breakfast or as a healthy dessert for a fun dinner party with friends.

Fruit salads are a festival of colours and flavours. They also represent a healthy sweet alternative to sugary desserts. The secret to prepare a fruit salad that can match the satisfaction a dessert can give is finding the right texture and flavour combination.

This fruit salad we prepared in Rotterdam is proper food porn. Not just great to look at but also extremely satisfactory for the palate.

And it’s healthy! Figs are rich in natural sugars, soluble fibres and minerals, including potassium and calcium; they are also a great source for the antioxidant vitamins A, E and K. Blackberries are low in calories and an excellent source of vitamin C, which is another powerful antioxidant. The honey is not just delicious, but also a natural antibiotic and antibacterial.

There are so many reasons to love this fruit salad, I guarantee it will become one of your favourite dishes! Fig and berries salad Preparation:

Chop 4 figs and 2 apples in large pieces, so you will still appreciate the texture when mixed with the other ingredients. Add whole grapes and berries (for this salad blackberries are my favourites).

In a small jar, mix 3 tablespoons of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, juice of a lemon and some chopped mint. Mix these ingredients and sprinkle this dressing on the fruit salad.Decorate the dish with fresh mint leaves and enjoy!Fig salad
